Well, I just finished something that was taking up all of my free time. I can finally start working on the car.
This weekend I am swapping rear ends. Out is the original 3.23 open 7.5" and in is the 3.73 geared posi 7.625" (with new gears and posi). Hopefully this thing lasts at least the season until I get an aftermarket unit.

What tires do you race on? the 10 bolts seem to live a lot longer behind automatics :D
Do you have the main cap studs & solid pinion spacer? Those are key to a sturdy 10 bolt IMO.

Right now I just have 26x10.5 ET Streets. Not sure if I'll need to step up to 28s...
I don't have anything done to it yet. I was thinking of welding the axle tubes too.

Welding the tubes is a good mod, and worth it if the axle is out of the car.
The TA rear cover with the pre-load bolts is nice too to keep the bearings from walking around in the races.

Ya, I am not sure how far I should push this tiny 10 bolt. Seems like guys (with autos) are able to push them into the 1.6s and thats about it. I haven't done anything to the suspension yet. I am going to box the LCAs and I run air-bags.

Finally got my Hotchkis adjustable panhard bar last night. I'll put it on today and then the rear end/suspension will be ready to got for now.
Now......just for the motor....... :shrug

Me and a buddy did it over a few days. It took about 8 hours as it was our first one but we figured about 3 hours when we do his.
