If you would like to attend a LS1LT1 track day in San Antonio, TX this Spring/Summer put your name here and how much you would be willing to put in towards renting a track. (track will cost about 2,200 to rent) Feel free to get your buds to come and chip in a few bucks ;)

No discussion here, there are other threads going for that. Please simply say when you could make it, and how much you can put in.

I can put in $100 on behalf of the site whether I can make it or not, but I'd say mem day weekend would be a good bet for me.

Don't feel you have to give a lot of money...just what ever you feel comfortable with.

After we get a rough estimate of how many people, and how much money we have, I, or ChrisWS6 will put up a paypal to start collecting the funds, which of course if for any reason this does not take off, all donations will be refunded in full.

If it's gonna be down in TX, my attendance will depend on when it is.

Grims
12-29-2006, 11:57 AM
Then tell us when you can make it..

The date is being decided by when the most people can go.

May would be best for me. Could probably do like 100 bucks. This is contigent upon if slow is still willing to give me a ride.

I have been actively pursing this, so far it seems a lot more people would be able to make it if it was in TN. I have been checking with TN tracks...they are a good bit more expensive then Texas...but we'll just have to see how many people we can get interested.

It's gonna be real tough from me to make it in May-July. I've got alot of stuff going on and 5 weddings to attend.

Brian, do you think LS2.com would let Grims post about this over there? He's going to need to attract folks from more than just our site to pull it off.

I would be interested if it was in TN. I dont think my engine buildup will be ready by then but I would at least like to make an appearance. Keep us updated.:D

Grims is trying to work with Memphis Motorsports Park right now...pricing is the big obstacle.

I think we'd need to be able to count on some solid attendance to pull it off.

If its in Memphis I would go for sure. Thats just 2 hours away...and from what I can tell there are alot of members here from tn.

The location is still undecided, San Antonio is by far the cheapest...but not as many people can make it there.

How about having some regional events, points could be awarded to establish the leaders for a national event. Perhaps one a month ending in the south as the weather turns in the north. People with deep pockets could hit several or all the races and the poor boys could compete at their local or regional event. I would think if you offered a local track 50 or 100 extra cars on a test and tune day they would be more than happy to stage the cars.

We are just not big enough to pull that kind of setup off. Its going to be a major thing just to fill 1 track for one day I think.

I will kick in a hundred to make it happen - and being a TX resident, have to vote for San Antonio - however, if a spot should happen to show up in Tennessee, we just might could make that one too. Got kin in N.C. I might have to visit....

If its so hard than why is the 5.0 shootout still going strong? And fastest street car.

I'm only an hour from the track in San Antonio. I'm going to try and get my car out this spring and put my stock suspension N2O LT1 Camaro in the 8's. It's a street legal (barely) car with 28 x 10.5 M/T slicks. I've got it up for sale right now on racingjunkl.com, but I'm having second thoughts. Just not many races to go to where my car fits the rules.

And I would bring my calvary as well...
Oh and anytime during the summer would be fine with me.

A few of us are going in January of you wanna come.

As for the Official drag races, we never could get the commitment, funds, or a time everyone could agree on.
