Kind of off vehicle topic here, but
Did the first chassis dyno run on the 454 today. Turbo 400 2.73 gears 29.5 tires…RPM limiter at 4500 138 mph. 93 octane pump gas….

232 hp @ 3850 rpms.
496 lbs ft torque @ 1550 rpms…

Torque was above 400 ft lbs thru 2900 rpms…

@1550 rpms = 146 HP
@3850 rpms = 317 Lbs Ft torque

We had a dip in torque 2600-2800….not sure what that’s all about…

2550-414
2600-408
2650-404
2700-402
2750-405
2800-411
2850-414
2900-410
2950-398

Will scan the docs to a PDF next week. The ones I have are hard to read as there printer was a POS….

:) Over all satisfied as the cam is a torque profile cam…crower 278H, 9.33 comp ratio, performer oval port, HEI, holly 750, headers…

Am thinking need fatter secondary jetting and or a lighter secondary spring

What kind of heads you running. You need to get that HP and rpms up. I just love those high revvin big blocks

we're running semi closed chambered heads with 2.19 by 1.88 valves...

our target goal for the truck was a relititvely light truck, with low numerical gears and a lotta torque.

we're gonna try a little lighter secondary spring and some fatter rear jetts next time...the torque curve is falling off too fast for the cam profile.. and the HP should be higher.....
