View Full Version : Midwest Speed (and associates) group outing to Chicago Indoor Racing!!!

Allright guys and gals, I emailed CIR to get an idea on group rates for an outing for us to go karting on a sunday next month. Here's what they sent me back:
http://home.comcast.net/~baddogz28/CIRGrandPrix.JPG
Looks like it would probably be a good idea to do the + $5.75 add for the pre fixed group menu and game room credits along with + $5 PP for the consolation race after the grand prix for the slower members of our party. ;) I thought that the food would be more expensive than that. :D With taxes and shit, this should come out to be about $100 per person, and that is well worth it for a lot of racing time and food.
Anyway for those of you that haven't been there, it's a kickass time. Check out www.chicagoindoorracing.com to get a better idea what we're getting into. Click on the links "A lap of track 1" and "A lap of track 2" to see what this place is like. The cars haul ass.
For me, this has to happen on a sunday, and CIR needs at least 30 days advance notice. How does the last sunday in September sound guys?
Post up people and lets make this shit happen!!!!

john_matrix and I went there earlier this year, it was a great time. They even post lap times and race results online.

haha never done that myself, but theres a first for everything, and at least this way i stand a more even chance in a race, than my ta vs your camaro ;)
baddogz28
08-12-2005, 12:20 PM
Ha, I'm sure your TA is pretty damn fast for itself. We will just have to see on the kart track... My lap times were in the 90th percentile for track one the first time I went with john_matrix. ;)

I'd be down for the 11th. The 25th is my b-day and I'll be driving back from Indy. But I'd do any Sunday except the 25th.
Can we bring our own helmets?
I did something like this up in Montreal. To this day (4 years later) I still hold the #3 lap time and #4 overall. I was #1 for a bit.
baddogz28
08-12-2005, 12:49 PM
Yes we can use our own stuff.
Because of the 30 day lead time, I'd most likely try and schedule it for the first sunday in october to avoid scheduling conflicts and give people the opportunity mark the day on their calendars.

this is because your car requires all the mods you can afford to gain the power we come with ;)
hehe, and besides, what kinda mods can you get for a single bill anyway?, a spark plug wire or two? :p hehe

I was thinking short shifter, sway bars, or tints.
We'll see, bitches. I'll put you in to the wall at turn 4, just like cole trickle. Then hit you in the victory lap  http://tomcruise.populli.org/tcgallery/daysofthunder/daysof001.jpg

the floormats were the officially licenced and embridered(sp?) with the trans am logo and bird, they dotn come cheap, the air box was gotten when ti was brand new, now they can be got for around $100, and the strut brace is still around that price listed.
i personally woudlnt ahve paid 175 for the lid..., i dont really want to pay $100 for it, but it came with the car, and i guess its worth it *shrugs*
tho, i guess the low price of the borla system more than makes up for it

well it is an indoor place correct? woudl be a good thing to do in the middle of winter when everyones car is unable to race ont he streets (put away, snow...whatever.)

but yeah, as much as i wish this forum woudl pick up, to get the kind of turnout we would need we would have to organize on the tech side.

so, is it cold adn snowy enough for a nice warm indoor race meet yet?
winter sucks...and its taking its toll on my car already, now aside from the dent my sister put in, the inside driver door panel split due tot he cold, the rotors managed to warp and my sail panel is starting to bubble *angry*
LiquidFire350
12-14-2005, 12:07 AM
the rotors managed to warp
yea, how would you like to have part of the rear parking brake drum break off and just rattle around and scrape as you drive
but yea, but im up for indoor racing, screw the cold

how about having the 2 screws holding your calppur on falls out while your driving and you ahve very little breaking power and hear the calipur clunking around in the wheel well?
I'll try to set something up, I have been so busy lately I haven't been doing much thinking about cars or racing at all.
