Okay, it's been a while since I bothered anyone. Now you guys are due!!:lol:
I pulled the right (pass) side kick panel off of my 94 T/A and saw that I don't have a transmitter in the holder for the remote entry. I assume it was not optioned with the car as new. So, what I am wondering is if I could buy the transmitter (used) and a remote fob (I actually have one I could program) and install it myself. It doesn't seem like it should be that difficult but I also don't want to assume that it would be that easy. I have read (on here) about programing a remote on the 94 T/A so I have an idea of how it can be done. I don't know if I can just get a used trnasmitter and through it in the holder and make the connections.
Any input or knoweldge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, :thumbsup:

Are there already wiring harnesses in place that you could just plug and play?

I'm not sure about the wiring harness. I would have to look again to see if there are plugs that are just sitting there or what the deal is. Thanks.
Sorry Chris for posting in the wrong area :roflmao:

Okay, I went to the and found a receiver that looks like the attached pic. It did come out of a camaro, I assumed it would be the same unit in all the F-bodies. I was playing around in that component location in my T/A and wasn't sure about what plugs might actually attach to the receiver. So my questions are;
1. Did the T/As and the Camaros all use the same receiver?
2. Was the receiver changed from early 4th gen F-bodies to later 4th gens?
3. I was under the impression that the wiring for the remote option would be there even if the option was not ordered. Was of the wrong impression??
Anyone with any ideas please give a yell. :thumbsup:
My goal is to have remote locks even though it seems the car did not come with the option from the factory. Thanks in advance. :LS1LT1flag:
No the pigtails for the keyless reciever are not there. That makes it the PITA part. I was going to do this to my 95 TA but didn't feel like taking half of the dash apart to connect the wires for the pigtails. I know on one of the pigtails a wire must run to your diagnostics port. The keyless recievers are the same for the Camaros & Firebirds, V6 & V8's but I wanna say certain years are different so if you get a reciever for a 93 then you'd need a 93 Key Fob. But If i remember correctly the 94-95 are the same. They changed the Key Fob in 96 but i'm unaware if they changed the reciever.

All 94-95s used the same receiver.
If RPO AU0 was present, you would have the wiring. CKJ says you don't have the connectors -probably true.
Yep, i've got the AU3 package no keyless remote, i've got the connectors out of my 93 TA that I am eventually going to put in my 95 but I have to get a matching reciever & key fob, my 93 only had the reciever, fob was lost w/ previous owner.

Okay, thanks very much guys. I looked and did not find RPO AU0. I believe I did see AU3. I don't know if it is worth the effort to mess around with the wiring too much. So I guess it's a lost cause. Sucks I say!!
CKJ, once you get that hooked up on your 95 could you please make a post about it and say how it went? By the way, I bet you could find a 93 fob on ebay..........
Thanks again GUYS!!!! :thumbsup:

Will do, i've looked at a couple but get caught up looking for other things that cost way more. So,..i've just kept putting it off. Maybe within a month or so. Thanks.
