Thoughts please. What would you like to see? Styling, motor, etc. Be decently relistic in your goals for the motor you'd like to see. Obviously we would all love to have a 7.0L LS7 in the cars... but probably a pipe dream...
So... Lets dish it out guys!!!

I like the retro concept look that I have seen and 7.0 LS7 might get me to buy one

I love the retro look that Chris Horton (???) did. But what I want to see most in/from a new Camaro.....
Is a new Firebird.

I think you can forget about getting an LS7 Camaro from the factory. Its just not realistic. Now, GMMG is another matter :D

Turbo 4 cyl with AWD and under $15,000. Maybe base it off the old Geo Storm but put a wing and a hood scoop on it. Wooooooommmmbaaaaaaa!!

A little more comfort. The SS is nice to drive short distances, but tough on the long trips.

Realisitcally I'd like too see this: a 9" rear on M6 cars, a 12 bolt on A4 cars, 400hp LS6 or LS2, a stock clutch that can handle 500rwhp, 275's in front, 315's out back, SFC's and good looks.
I really don't think this is all that much to ask/expect out of the new Camaro.

What you're probably going to get is the new 8.5 inch under the new Colorados. It should be similar in strength to the Ford 8.8.

I could live with that. The 8.8 is nearly indestructable. It's always pissed me off that GM put a stronger rear in the S10 than in the F-body.

As long as it's not the rearend they are sticking in the CTS. Those are blowing up quite a bit it seems.

V8, RWD, coupe... modern styling that you know is a Camaro right away, but doesn't blatantly copy the past.
Top notch material quality, particularly in the interior.
Price it right.

An LS2 option, RWD with a solid rear, 6-speed standard, and affordable.

Truthfully I want something that won't appeal to everyone. I don't want something like the new Mustang where I already can't drive 2 miles without seeing 3 of them.
I want a car that doesn't have some goofy offset on the rims so you have only 2 choices to buy different wheels for it. Also unlike the Mustang give me some room to put a big fat tire in the back.
Give me true dual exhaust or at the very least the ability to run it past the rear axle if I wanted to.
Fold down rear seats whether it be a hatch or a trunk.
Good seats
An engine not sticking further under the cowl then what's sticking in front of it.
Room for headers, and spark plug access
Keep it price wise around 30 grand loaded and it would be nice. Or atleast keep the trim options.
Only put body mods on it that make sense, not just for the sake of marketing.

What I would like to see:
RS: 3.9L 240 HP V6----->$22k
Z28: 5.3L 303 HP V8 ------>$27K
SS: 6.0L 400 HP V8----->$30K
ZL1: 7.0L 505 HP V8----->$45K

i agree 100% with you!
they should have a supercharged option too...cause that would be sick!!
i wonder if SLP is gonna get in on this too....if they will make SLP options available like on the 4th gens

What, you got somthing 'gainst stage coaches?! :D
I'd be happy with great working/performing power windows that virually never go out & get rid of the hump on the passenger side.

DITTO! Would rather lead, than follow. The retro was/is a very cool stategy, all the same. :cool:

I like that. ZL1 >>>> GT500 :D
I would love to see a retro style(similar to what Chris Horton did) and the RS be an appearance package again(like the 1st Gen Camaro, definetly have the hidden headlights). For interior, I think they need to just fit the interior of the GTO into it.
I agree, definetly need a 12 bolt or 9" for the rear.
Then they should bring the Firebird back as the sleek modern looking sports car, to cover both appearance preferences. ;)

brute power
brute power
...and a drivetrain to match. Please, no more 10-bolts. Not even an 8.5", even though its a step in the right direction, have a 12-bolt as an option (since I doubt Chevy would sell their cars with a 9").

Well i do what something that everyone would like because if its not popular and the mustang is just killing it in sales then out favorite car will probably once again be cancels. Im pretty sure the LS7 will never go in a camaro (stock) because it would steal some of the corvettes sales. I think retro styling a comfortable and well lauid out interior, a slightly detuned LS2 (Z28), somewhat comfortable ride, strong rear end, and for a base 6 engine use the Inline six that goes into the Trailblazer (270hp and revs like crazy), and pretty much good enough to woop the mustangs ass at everything so once again our favorite pony car will be back on top in performance and maybe sales where it belongs.
P.s. I said the 270 hp 6 as a base because it would be so close in power to the GT it would almost insult Ford. I can see the commercial now... Why buy a 300 hp mustang when for a few grand less you could buy a 270 hp camaro or for the same price you could buy the 375 hp Z28.

we will never see the 9in as a factory option, its from the wrong company for that.
i want a sporty, flashy sleek, good aerodynamics car. they need to put some thought into the engine bay, ours looks like crap compared to the vette. and put the engine sou u can actually see the firewall. i think that chevy will have to make a GT500 killer. they do need a high hp stripper version. maybe the Z28 can be the road race inspired one and the SS the more confortable version. engines, I doubt that by the time the car comes out the current engines will be used except for maybe the LS7, but with the current available engines i think the I6(we don't have any good v6s really, they are old designs), maybe a turbo I6 or V6, and the LS2. i like the idea of a FI, especially turbo one.

Give me a stripped down Z/28 with LS2 and forged internals, a M6 with a clutch that can handle loads of torque and a decent rearend. Throw a NX kit in the trunk for me to install, and go hunting. while I'm dreaming make it a !emissions version.

08-18-2005, 02:20 AM
Yea, ditto on the rear end.......MUST BE BULLET PROOF! (i.e. able to withstand 5000 rpm clutch dumps delivered by it's highest factory rated engine)
Also I remember way back when you could select from several rear end ratios from the factory, this would be nice.
And give us some REAL FRIGGIN COLORS PLEASE..... ya know like BRIGHT hues in the red/orange and blue/green families. :lol:

Agreed.
I also have been saying for years that there should be MORE COLORS to choose from as well.
And, finally, carry that over to the INTERIOR! GTO has an awesome red/black and blue/black interior, and had a purple/black interior.
Give us something other than grey, medium grey, dark grey, alternate grey, and beige... PLEASE!!!
