Alot of fbody owners use the Alpine Type R's, since they are generally an easy conversion for the fronts. Many use the stealth or sub-thump boxes for subs, but all depends on what you are seeking!
Can I assume you plan on using aftermarket amplifiers too, or do you intend on utilizing the Monsoon HU, which I DO NOT recommend, since the clarity and volume output probably won't meet your needs.
Also need price target (range) of how much you want to spend, in order to narrow it down for you. If you can answer these questions, I would recommend coming over to this site:

Some very unique setups under the gallery too, for some ideas.

I've got the Alpine S-series... Never used the R-series but I love my S's!

thnx for all the replies also a little while ago i had posted something about adaptive headlamps (headlamps that move with the steering wheel) and i had been wondering if it was possible to do that to the popup lights of a 98 firebird. well it is i did some serious modding with the motors that powere the turn wheels and some sizing down of the housing on the remote sensors to keep the birds lights looking stock. anyway ill post the specs and pics if you guys want to see the outcome.

I used MB Quart DUA 216 separates in the front and a mid woofer in the rear sail panels. With a 5 channel amp it sounds great. Bass is supplied by a stealth box with a SoundSplinter RL10 sub. Very economical setup that sounds great, not the best but great non the less.
