you could cut your times down to mid 14's with slicks. what kind of 60's are you getting?

60' was 2.2x to 2.3x

i'm guessing you mash the gas when it goes green? try some different techniques when you launch. see which works best and keep practicing.

You could get that down to like a 1.9-2.0 with just a good launch technique on street tires.

i beg to differ with that grims,I got a 2.06 60ft time with my car on street tires and that was the best on a track with vht and no tire spin...dont think that car would ever bust a 1.90 on street tires..regular radials that is..

i plan on messing around with my tire pressure and taking some unwanted weight out so only time will tell.

:werd: easy on the pedal there chieftain.... well the last yellow goes, then hit it about half throttle. i found 4l60es LOVE to take off when rollin from around 20-25 mph. thats where youll feel a punch. if you slam it off the line youre bound to lose traction unless you have 315's on the rear  like myself!

He is an auto that weighs more, I see no reason why he can't get a 1.9-2.0 60 foot. I'm a M6 and got a 2.0 stock with hard worn out street radials.

I wouldn't go with a full salick on a stockish car. Overkill IMO. Just get a good set or Drag Radials like Nitto's or the Mickey Thompson Drag Radial.

I know a guy with an auto Z28, slicks actually slowed his ET down..he just bogged so damn bad.

so if i was to go with some different tires then it sounds like some wide drag radials are the way to go?
thanks

welllllllll as long as you have another set to drive around on regularly, you dont want to run on slick all the time (wear em out and ost of them are illegal). slicks would be my choice if i had no traction and had another set of wheels and tires.
