Have you been doing any hard launching with good tires? What kind of power are you putting down?

Yes I have done some hard launches and i have BFG Drag radials so ive been hooken up pretty good. I really dont know what the power is im pushin. i did about a 1200 dollar tune up on it (thats parts) maganflow exaust, perf cat, MSD digital 6 igniton, all of those free mods, ported maf, And a pretty seriously built six speed with an agressive clutch. just about the only thing i havent done to the car is the driveline and rear end. but a grand for a rear end doesnt work well for me right now cause im in the middle of buying a Grand national too. so any help that save me some dough is greatly appreciated

well you may have broke a tooth or 2 on the ring or pinion. or the bearings in there are binding. sticky tires+fbody 10 bolt= boom!

its $2,000+ for a rear end (12bolt or 9" or S60) but check for sale forums on here and LS1tech you can get ahold of a built rear for $1500.

will a stock axle off of a 98-02 camaro ss be stronger? will it bolt right on? is 3.42 gears with locker a good set up?

none of the 3rd/4th gen rear ends are strong. they have a 7.5" ring gear compared to the 12 bolt's 8.8" or the ford 9"' 9" ring gear.

Will a 12 bolt Rear end bolt right up? what cars did they come on?

A factory 12 bolt will not "bolt right up" because the F-body mounts are different from any of the cars/trucks 12 bolts came in. YOur choices are:

Moser 12 bolt
Strange Engineering 12 bolt
Strange Engineering Dana S60
Moser Ford 9"
Strange Ford 9"

Check out some of our sponsors, like Driveline Solutions, and see what they recommend. I know they carry the above choices.
