I was looking through the other posts and couldn't find anything on my problem. I was driving my little gas saver and lost traction and slammed it into a curve. So I'm driving my bird now and I took it out for the first time in a couple of weeks and heard some rattling like right under my shifter. It sounds like something is loose but I can't get any sort of jack under my car to lift it up because of the launch springs. Its not an exhaust rattle. I was able to find out that much. It only does it in gear and when im moving. I has a buddy that has an LT1 camaro that had the somewhat of the same noise. He said it was his tansmission mount. Could that be true? If that is the case what can I do to fix it?:dontknow:

If its the transmission mount you replace it. Its easy.

does the shifter move at all? That would be a good indicator your trans mount is broke, m6 the shifter will move up and down, a a4 the trans will hit the tunnel.

It does move a little bit but it takes some force. I mean I'm a 6'4" 200 pound guy and its kinda hard for me to pull up.

I would bet it's your trans mount. If you can get under your car, the mount is between the trans crossbrace and the trans. I think it is only 3 bolts, if you can, get a poly mount to replace it with, they are stronger, and not that much more money, plus you can get it at any auto parts store.

same thing happened to me also 3 weeks or 1 month ago,, trans mount my highest guess... i replaced with factory one cause although the Poly ones are stronger but they transmit more vibrations.. i don't wanna sacrifice my daily comfort cause my car is daily driven.

i thinks its the smurf's coming to get you. they hide under the car when you get in and are slowly chewing there way through the floor boards. when you go to fast they get mad and bang on stuff so you will slow down.
or ya its probly the tranny mount like everyone said. make a choice comfort and fix again later or vibrate and be fixed for good. lol.
