Either the M6 swap or the C5 front brakes.

id have to say my 9" with detroit locker, and 4.11s. nothin like launching at 6600 on 28" slicks and not having to worry about your rear end. not to mention switchin from 3.42s to 4.11s also makes a huge difference.

Getting a 6.0L block and boring it .030 over and stroking it 4" to make a 408 cubic inch nitrous injected LS1!!!

Mine's here but its in pieces. I have to build the center section then install...but yeah, will be nice to get back to the track and not have to worry about it.

The 355 vs the tire original 305!!! LOL...

No other than the motor, the best mod so far is the converter hands down...

Full exhaust from headers to Cat-Back all at once.

I'd have to say the mod I get the most out of is the exhaust. I love the cam and the converter as well as the gears, but most of that stuff only shows up big time at heavier acceleration. The exhaust is fun at idle, in traffic around town, and at full throttle. But the exhaust wouldn't be the same without the cam lope, so maybe cam + exhaust, for the sound it gives. The extra power is a nice bonus too. ;) :D

HP Tuners has been my favorite so far, but i do love my headers too

I would say other than the heads/cam/pistons..... it would have to be my 9" since i have been through 5 10 bolts.....

I put a tilt-steering wheel from a '91 Safari in my Astro. One of the best upgrades I've done to it. My thighs really appreciate it :D .

So far just the PBR brakes and they are just in the front haven't done the back one's yet, but if you stop hard it almost lifts the back end up. Although was before we fixed some kind of bolt that was making the passenger side brake lag I forget what it is we just did it today so now it'll definately stop (or hopfully it will)

Weld on subframe connectors, 3.73 gears, LT4 conversion.

Spohn LCAs on my GTA (went from so much wheel hop that my teeth felt like they were gonna crack, to just straight burnouts and nice hook up.)

my 355 in my formula (went from 17 seconds of fury with a godo driver to 14 seconds of fury with me driving.... I still need to learn how to launch a 5 speed)

Heads/cam... I have not made it to the track yet but it sounds good to me :D .

The mod I'm looking forward to the most.... a GMMG exhaust (coming early '06). The weld-in flowmaster just doesn't do it sounds and performance-wise.

I'd say the LS1 edit tune.

Either the M6 swap or the C5 front brakes.
so you went from a a4 to a m6? how difficult was this? How much down time is there? And how much did it cost to make the change? I keep hearing the 6 speeds are better than the automatics. So im CONSIDERING the change in about a year and a half when the motor is done.

What is the power handling of those trannys?

besides building my motor and doing the suspension i would have to say my best mod is my m6 to a Turbo 400 swap.

I've got 3 equal favorites:

Cheapest = e-cutout. Flip a switch and get open exhaust to scare those around you $50

Most expensive = V6 --> V8 More fun, but $6000 difference

Most fun --> Either full suspension in one day (sways, shocks/springs, LCAs, STB, SFCs, and PHR) OR full exhaust in one day (AS&M mids, Hooker catback, no cats, MSD ignition, NGK plugs, MSD wires, and new PCM by Madz28)

I like big projects at once rather than little increments!

well i thought my LT/Duals were my best mod, well they made the most power so far
but im tired of haveing people just walking away from me because i cant hook for shit

and whats worse is im thinking of getting a stall with a 2.2 STR and im still on street tires

HyperTA97

mine would probably have to be the slp loudmouth exhaust. i've had 3 different exhaust manufactures on my vehicle and the slp is the only system that sounds AWESOME and creates more TORQUE!!. I love it

M6 is more fun, but if the main goal is drag racing stick with the automatic...trust me on that.

Its not a hard swap at all...depending on how much you spend on a clutch it will run you $1500-$2500 for everything.

We did mine 1.5 days. The T56 can hold 450ft-lbs rated....many survive much more than that. Be forewarned though...a good clutch and T56 = start saving for a 12-bolt or Ford 9"....I learned that the hard way.

There are plenty of people out there willing to do it. I'm going from M6 to A4 next month.

After having done numerous mods to my street car (98 TA) which includes BIG brakes, balanced motor, big cam, headers, 315s on all 4 corners, full LGM suspension ...

and

after building a Camaro/Mustang Challenge road racing car (96 TA) I would have to say the most impressive modification has been weight reduction.

My 98 weighs in at a portly 3800 while the CMC car weighs less than 3000 ... HUGE difference in the way the car feels ...
