i was thinking of getting a cheap nitro kit but Ive heard that using nitrous will tear up your motor and quick. is this true or does this just happend to those who use it constantly?

exactly. Nitrous does zero damage to your motor when used right, even with frequent repetition. It raises your cylinder pressure a little, so if something is weak it may exploit it. There are alot of myths out there.

Hib is a little conservative with his estimate of 30% increase is pushing things IMO. Id say up to 50% is fine, and then you may begin to run into durability issues, simply because the motor is making so much more power than it was built for in stock form.
