It should be a good race. If you can shift good i'm guessing you'll pull a bit ahead, unless he has a major factory freak.......

Being that his is a 98 it's a dog for an LS1. If you can drive it'll be a hell of a race. He may pull on you up top though.

245's were factory for all 16" wheels. 275's came with the 17's.

Do you know what gears he has? GU2 2.73 or GU5 3.23

I'm gonna go with the LS1 on this one unless you're a crazy good driver.

Well his car has the 2.73s in the rear and im pretty sure his isnt a factory freak ive driven it. Im not the best at driving a manual but im pretty good. The best ive run in a stock Z28 6speed was 13.4 but i havent been racing in a while so im pretty rusty right now.

Why'd this get moved? I put it in the LT1 vs. LS1 Forum. Dang im not as rusty as i thought. Visited the track today and after a couple runs i took my friends stock 01 mustang 5 speed to a 14.1. I do need a little practice though i wasnt very consistent. Well i guess ill just have to wait and see.

LS1 vs LT1 is more for trashtalking/argument type threads, this one pertains more to street racing.
What were you 60's like at the track?

You need to slip the clutch to a little under 3 grand.. AS long as you can get a good car out in front he shouldnt be able to reel you back in before you shut it down.. Once you start hitting 100 is when hell start pulling ahead and he will be reeling you in around 85 / 90 if neither are factory freaks or complete dogs..Get a cold air intake and youll have him

My brother in law had a 99 TA auto, we raced froma dig a few times and everytime, I pulled him off the line like nothing, then after about....4 seconds at the most he would fly by. Now he has a 2000 TA manual... that just makes it worse, I still get him off the line though....By the way, mine is auto.
