First of all I can't seem to get the shift knob off my 94 Z28... Stop laughing! :stfu:

Does it unscrew counter clockwise? Also what size thread is the stock shifter shaft?

This is an old thread, so I hope you're still around. I've got the same problem, and yes, I have thrown considerable "ass" into it, but it won't budge. I've cut the rubber knob off and put tools to the remaining plastic covered smetal sleev, but the b**tard won't moved. I suspect super glue ..... What worked for you?

Goodness gracious, get in the gym.
and I don't know what throwing your ass on the knob would help, but whatev.

Actually, I hit the gym 3 times a week, and the "ass remark" was in response to an earlier reply from some other wise guy. I've put tools to it and cranked on it until I thought the linkage would break. I suspect the previous owner glued the last one one. I'm gonna try heat next.

If it won't turn with you gripping it hard as you can with your bare hand, then somethings wrong... glue probably the most likely... just take the whole thing out and go pro5.0...
