I am going to be replacing my clutch within the next couple weeks I need some info on doing it my car is a 96 T/A 145k miles on the engine/tranny I am afraid that I will have to remove the y-pipe to get access to the tranny bolts is this true, also while I have it apart is there any thing else I should do or replace(other than the rear main seal)also what would be the best synthetic fluid to use with that many miles what weight/viscosity since I will be changing this as well all info will help

Are you talking about the fluid for the tranny? I have "heard" that synthetic is not good for manuals. Don't know why, but that is what I have heard. I have been using plain old Dex III ATF in mine.

Torque arm mount sucks. Probably worst part of the whole job.

take the torque arm off, the ds, if your doing this on jackstands the top tranny bolts will be the worst, and use dex III ATF in it, thats what suggested on the tranny itself

And don't forget to take your shifter off...I had a bad experience with dropping the tranney with my Hurst shifter and wires attached to it for N20 :(

ah yes forgot about the good ole shifter mine had to come off too, but i didnt have NOS attached to it.
also when you go to detach the slave cylinder... im assuming this is the external slave cylinder T56, if you detach it at the tranny when it comes out youll see the plunger that actuates the throw out arm and if you detached it at the tranny then you wont have to bleed the system, thats how i did mine and didnt have to bleed the system, it was a time saver. you might also want to replace the throw out bearing and the pilot bearing
