Hey guys, I was thinking about getting one of those B&M shiftplus things, is it really any good or is it just a waste of $30? Any input would be useful. I did a search for this topic so if it has already been asked, then I apologize in advance.

If you are thinking of doing a shift kit, go ahead and spend a little more and get a good shift kit. Not a cheap $30 one that fixes one or two things.
Also, get yourself an aftermarket tranny cooler.
The shift kit + cooler will help prolong the tranny a little while longer.

Last November I had to have my tranny rebuilt. A local guy did it that works specifically works on autos. He does great work, he put in a 3000 stall, and a transgo shiftkit. I did notice it shifted quicker for a while but I guess I just got used to it. I had never really heard anyone speak of it so I thought I would ask. Thanks

dude, i have one installed in my car and I love it!!!! the main thing I like is I can turn it off when my wife drives the car or if I just want it shift normal. then when I am playing or wanting to show off some I can flip the switch and at 1/4 throttle pop a 2nd gear scratch, LOL...its fun to play with!!! It was worth the $30 to me, and it takes about 20 min. to hook up, so easy!!!! also, I dont think it will heat the tranny up if you dont run it 24/7.....

yea, thats kinda what I was thinking about, something to have just to mess around with on the weekends. I thought heck, cant go wrong for $30. could you post some pics of yours or email them to me...because I assume you have to run a wire through the floorboard

I was under the impression that it was a stock tranny with no mods to it already.
If you have a 3000 stall in it now, did you put in an aftermarket tranny cooler at the time?
If not, get one on there stat! A higher stall will heat it up pretty good so you need that extra cooling.
It sounds like the $30 would be kind of fun then. :D

nah I havent put on a tranny cooler yet...it is actually the next thing on my list after I get my cam put in. I wont be driving it all that much because I am about to begin college and will be driving it just a few weekends, plus I really dont go hard on it because gas is to dang expensive for one. does any brand cooler work better than another?

I personally haven't had anyone tell me that one brand was better than the other.
I would say it mainly has to do to with how much fluid it will cool and placement of the cooler.
In short, get the biggest one that will fit. LOL!!!!

I have the TransGo, and I love it. When I got my turbo, the trans starting slipping. The TransGo completely eliminated that, and it still feels just like stock, not rough at all. I think it is worth the extra money. Just my opinion.
