I am putting heads, a cam, a headers, y-pipe, 1.6 rocker, etc on my car. It is intended as a daily driver/occasional strip visit. I was looking at a tune from pcmforless. Has anyone got their ecu tuned by them? I was thinking about dyno tuning, but I wanted to know if a pcmforless tune will be adequate enough for the time being? Like I said I dont visit the strip much, but I don't want a crappy tune that is gonna blow my engine. Anyone who has used pcmforless I would appreciate any feedback that you have. Thanks.

Agreed, the PCMforless tunes are ok, but a dyno tune will always be better. Why spend the money for the parts and not get everything out of them?

The only problem is there are very few obd2 lt1 tuners left, but yes a dynotune is usually the better option as mail tunes are mainly educated guesses.

I found a tuner that would dyno tune my car if I bought the software for my LT1. At the time, only LT1Edit was available. I understand that TunerCat now supports the LT1 as well.
Just my two cents worth.

Tunercat no longer offers an obd2 package..they sold the rights to Jet who now vin locks pcms...though technically you could go through craig moates and get a good deal on a tunercat but you'd need to buy his real time tuning pcm with it to still receive tunercat.

But ladybird could still buy TunerCat from Jet, it would just work on her car, correct? I am in the same situation with LT1Edit, and it has not caused me any problems.

correct, she would need to buy jets dynamic spectrum tuner as described in the sticky as well as get some type of scanning software.

I have used Bryan's tunes (pcmforless)before with great results. His recent tune for me was a mail order that was followed up by dyno. 552 vs 573 after the dyno. In fairness to Bryan I caused his original tune to be off due to me misadjusting the tps and iac counts. He had to compensate for my screw ups and once at the dyno after I fixed my mistakes he was able to go back to the original tune he sent me and do some final tweaks. He has tuned all of my recent rides.

Bryan did my car, and i was so happy with it I've decided to partner with him in bringing my hand-held programmer to market (see my other post about looking for beta testers).
