I don't really want a sub setup but would like some cleaner bass. Could I replace the rear speakers in the hatch with something that would add a little more bass to the setup? It seems that's all they do anyway. Also for the front 4 speakers what is the best way to go? The door speaker have tweeters built in above the speaker it's self. The back seat speakers don't seem to do a lot of anything and are very quiet...anything I can do to fix that?
Thanks guys

If the speakers in the rear are 6.5's then you could pull them out and replace with 6.5 woofers. Not a 2, or 3 way, but a woofer. There are a few companies that make them. If they are 6/9's then your screwed, however if that is the case you can opt for a self powered bazooka bass tube. Little in size but big in sound! Just a couple of quick suggestions.

Will that work with the factory amp that is back there now to power them?

If the woofers are any sort of quality they'll work with the factory amp, but it won't be strong enough to play them loud. If you want, PM me and I'll send you the specs on my 'cheap & lightweight' stereo set-up :)

You can get a powered sub setup really cheap. And you can also find one that is small in space. Let me know if interested, and i'll post up some sites that sell them.

I know about the sub boxes that fit in the cd changed hole in the hatch, but I really just want a good all around speaker system...I don't really need a big sub.

Yeah, but from everything I've read you can't really just replace the speakers because of the wiring.

No ,sometimes i'm an idiot, but to run new wires is really easy. I did it in under one hour. Both doors, and a head unit! And worth the effort, the sound is way better, and i didnt even get real good speakers.
