I replaced my in door speakers and the factory speakers had 4 wires on them.
The new speakers only had 2 wires and now there is barely any sound from the new door speakers. Ive tried several combinations hooking them up but Im at my wits end. WTF? Im not very electronics minded but this is ridiculous.
Any ideas?
Am I going to have to spend more money and get component speakers that use 4 wires?
TIA

Heres what i did, my car 94 z28, came with a factory subwoofer and amp. The wire are going through a crossover then to your speakers. I fished new wires through the rubber going into the door with a coat hanger. Otherwise you'll have to get to the crossover in the doors, and cut the wires to it, then figure out what wires you need. It's easier to fish the wires, than try to get to the crossover. Once the wires are through then you just hook them up. If you need good directions, let me know, and i'll give you specific directions on how to do it. That was the easiest thing to do, to change out the door speakers.

Certain radios that came in the car from the factory actually had a decent setup. On my car i got a factory sub in the rear left corner, in order for it to sound right the factory uses a type of crossover, to route the right frequencies to the right speakers. In the doors there are little crossovers for the 6.5's so they sound the best. Trying to wire up new speakers to this factory option is a pain in the ass. So as a alternative i fished new wires through the rubber boots that carry the wires into the doors. It is a lot easier to do this, then to try to take the crossovers out. There's just no room to get to them. I used a metal coat hanger to do it. If you need better instructions let me know i'll post step by step for you's.

i'm thinking of removing the whole system out,, the H/U as u saw is from atruck and not even the original one, and by so i'll also replace the speakers also,, currently thinking of the front only. with a decent h/u ... just to plug my ipod on and listen to my music..

Good plan. I put a c/d , mp3, and amps, and subs. When you get a h/u dont forget a wiring harness so you dont have to hack up the factory harness. It's a easy thing to do. If you run into problems let me know i'll walk you through it.
