Hey all:

I'm always looking for F-Body web sites, and I noticed that yours was sponsored by The WS6 Store. Great guys...decent prices, and excellent customer service.

Anyway, I live in Williamsville, N.Y.; a suburb of Buffalo, New York. I also belong to a local F-Body web site/car club: WNYFBODY.com; another great bunch of guys. Most of the club members own some really kick-@$$ F-Bodies. I'm on my 3rd F-Body (2nd LS1)...it's a black '02 WS6 M6.

Next Saturday, along with some of the WNYFBODY.com guys, I'll be dropping in my re-built engine. It's a 383 stroker with a forged rotating assembly (Eagle 4340 forged stroker crank, forged Callies Compstar 6.125" H-Beam rods, and forged Diamond racing 3.905" bore pistons), ARP main studs, Melling hi-output ported oil pump, LS2 timing chain, F.A.S.T. 90MM intake, custom-built 90MM black anodized throttle body, F.A.S.T. 36# injectors, F.A.S.T. fuel rail covers, Comp Extreme cam (234*/240*, .598/.609, 112* LSA), ATI 10% underdrive harmonic balancer, billet valve covers from Nasty Performance, custom plug wires, AFR Mongoose 225cc heads, ARP head studs, Comp Hi-Tech hardened chromemoly pushrods, Comp Pro Magnum lifters, '03 Z06 MAF, Spec Stage IV clutch/pressure plate, SPEC billet steel flywheel, Kooks stainless long-tube headers, ARP header studs, Kooks stainless ORY, stainless Magnaflow cat-back, and 5.0 shifter. Tuning will be done via HPTuners.

This sounds a little nuts, but there's a story behind it. Originally, I was just going to do a heads/cam/intake upgrade. My shop has a 2-post lift, so dropping the engine/tranny out the bottom was no problem. I had some of the guys over while I was disassembling the engine, when one of the club members, who owns a local speed shop, noticed that my front cam bearing was wiped. We pulled the engine off the engine cradle, and put it on my engine stand. By that time, it was 1:00am, and everyone left. The next day, I tore the bottom end down, and I almost started crying when I saw the rotating assembly. All 8 rod bearings, all 5 main bearings, and every crank journal was scored...bad. I started looking at the bare block, and found the reason; every cast/machined surface had not been de-burred. There were loose aluminum burrs hanging all over evry part of the block. So, for 23,000 miles, aluminum burrs had been falling into the rotating assembly, and making a royal mess. It took me 2 nights to hand de-burr the block. BTW, all 5 cam bearings were wiped

One of the guys from the club said that as long as I had the engine torn down to the bare block, if I ever had had an idea about doing something wild, now was the time. I'm not a fan of power adders, so I decided to go the stroker route. Before I tore the engine out, I had a baseline dyno session. With the Kooks headers, LS1 Motorsports lid, Magnaflow cat-back, and a Jet Stage II programmable PCM, my best pull was 350 RWHP, and 388 RWTQ. I can't wait to see what kind of gains the stroker will put out.

Well, I know this was kind of a long-winded introduction, but at least all of you are "caught-up" on who I am, and what I have going right now.

Avere una buono fine settimanna.

Ciao,
Angelo

"welcome onboard,, nice project.. try to post some pics of ur progress."

As soon as I figure out how, I will. I'm a computer weenie....I barely stumble through my e-mail. Now, if it took a few ratcheting box wrenches, and a screwdriver to post pics, I'd already have 'em up.
