NEED HELP!
MY TRANNY IS A O&M T/56 PUTTIN IT BEHIND A STROKED 383 LT1 SUPERSHARGED BY 14-18 PSI VORTECH V-1. CAN YOU GUID ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION? OR IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT EVEN KNOW'S THE PROPER PARTS TO BEEF THIS THING UP? :poke:
ALSO IF YOU HAVE HEARD OF THE PART'S NEEDED TO KEEP A MCLEOD STREET TWIN FROM HAVING PREMATURE WEARING ON THE TRANNY'S PARTS THAT WOULD ALSO BE HELPFUL.

First of all, take the capslock off chief. All caps is considered yelling and it won't get you any more or faster replies. Thanks :)

Second: Who is O&M, never heard of them.

Third: There's no specific stuff just for Street Twins. I have a McLeod myself and just finished freshening up my tranny. The biggest concern with such a stout clutch and that much HP is going to be the input and output shafts.

Mine actually turned out OK but I'm not running a blower either. I did new bearings, new 3-4 synchro rings and a steel 3/4 shift fork from http://www.t56rebuilds.com

You can get a Viper rebuild kit that swaps in the better quality mainshaft and so forth. You may need to do some searching on the net to see who sells one.

Check out http://www.t56rebuilds.com, they can certainly help you with your T56 buikd up.

P.S. I believe you meant OEM T56 not O&M T56....

First off I would like too thank you guys for your wounderful advise.. Secound, sorry for the caps lock "Pocahantus" I'm just jokin.. The computer I was on at the time was stuck on CAPS and there is an aftermarket piece for the twin disc I seen it on a site it is to prevent premature wearing of the input shaft I believe not really sure though .SOMS I did mean factory OEM I don't know how I got it mixed up.. My builder decided to get the "OEM" shaft's hardend at a local shop. Adding a whole new rebuild kit including the 3&4 synchro keys aswell as new shift fork's.. Thanks again for your help, when I get this thing finished I will make sure and get some times and let you know how it all went...

depending on how hard you beat the trans, i kno weve had a turbo trans am, power shifting and the trans would last a year or so. r

but when we used the stronger internals, we broke cases!!

Pocahontas was an Indian princess, the daughter of Powhatan, the powerful chief of the Algonquian Indians in the Tidewater region of Virginia. She was born around 1595 to one of Powhatan's many wives. They named her Matoaka, though she is better known as Pocahontas, which means "Little Wanton," playful, frolicsome little girl.

Let's explain it like this. I will be the Cheif "powhatan" like you addressed me previously and you can be my little princess "Matoaka".

Just a simple joke I was just messin with you cause you are the administrator and you need a little joke on here every now and then.
I love this site it has helped my knowledge about the lt1 expand greatly:thumbsup:
