Formula or Trans Am

Ive always been a fan of the trans ams and thought everyone thought the same way but i was recently at an f-body show and a guy had a formula and he said he hated the T/A because of the spoiler and he especially hated the ws6 hood. Just wondering how many people prefer the formula over the T/A.

i chose the 87 formula i had over a trans am. The fact that it looks like a 6 cylinder but has the balls and handling of the V-8 is awesome. Its a factory sleeper, like an LX fox body 5.0 used to be.

My buddy has a 99 Formy with a Firehawk hood. He just built a H/C N2O LS2 to go in there. That car is sick.

If I did have a 4th gen formula, I'd look into the Mecham spoiler.

I always thought the formy would be a tad quickr because its lighter but you can never find road tests for them. Its always the T/A

I would go for the TA...I have just always like the look a little better over a Formula...

Whenever I think of a V8 Firebird I picture the TA (especially 2nd and 4th gens)...The Formula looks great but its kind of like Darth Vader without the cape...just doesn't work for me...

formulas are great. i always have liked sleeper cars. however i think that the formula looks wrong for some reason stock. i think the absoutely best looking firebird i ever saw had a V6 front end, a T/A hatch, and a WS6 hood. wicked. if i had thought about it, i might of gotten a formula and done it.

I've always liked the TA's, but I'm more of a sleeper man myself (Makes it easier to get Hondas and such to race me). I own a formula and I'll always be a formula man. Formula :poke: TA.

I prefer the T/A BECAUSE of the spoiler/ground effects. Just makes it better looking, although I do have a soft spot for the LS1 formulas. Those as just so low slung and mean looking.

I would choose the formula just for the fact that it would be a good sleeper. I see firebirds hotrod around town all day so you dont think much when one pulls up next to you. IMO id rather be fast than look fast just so people would be left to wonder.

they both looks damn good. but the fog lights on the ta break up the bumper IMO. and i dont like the look of the TA rear bumper w. no exhaust coming out of it, so it wouldnt work for me... and i like the formula hatch better too. a ws6 formula is by far the best.

I think the LS1 cars look kinda goofy without the TA wing, and what finally convinced me to go TA over formula was the front fascia :)

Trans Am for me. Regardless, the firebird design in itself is very unique.

I like the front facia and rear bumper on the Trans Am better than the Formula. Especially when you paint the lower part of the bumper black. :D

if you get a hood for a formy then they look sick, some of the fronts on t/a with the fog lights dont apeal to me. the sleeker and more like a sleeper is better.
