Driveshaft swap

I have a 1996 LT1 6-speed formula. I heard that an LS1 driveshaft was a direct swap for the LT1. Does the LS1 shaft have to be out of a 6-speed or will any LS1 shaft work? I want to just do a direct swap, no shortening of the shaft. Also will I have to switch out the u-joints? thanks.

Its a direct swap. The A4 and M6 shafts are slightly different lengths, but we're talking like 1/8th of an inch. Any LS1 shaft will do. And yes the u-joints and everything are the same. It is literally a direct swap.
