OK....yawl' know I tote around a tank full of stereo gear, so my ride height is 1.5" lower in rear and rear axle is scaled out at 1950# (400# over stock).

The SLP Bilstein/Eibach suspension cannot handle this any longer as evidenced by the deteriorating bump stops.....or should be say barely existent:lol:

I have contacted Eibach, SLP, QA, Strano and Strange who all say I need a GC or coilover system. I say hogwash......I have the specs on those eibach springs, so now I need to locate a set of springs that will handle the axle weight noted above.

HELP! Any suggestions?

Hey Chris, I reviewed the catalogue, but only saw lowering springs......but I have them on my list to call next week along w:

Eaton
H&R
Hypercoil

I have the specs on both the Level one and Level two, but not sure which setup I have since SLP only has "Bilstein Suspension Option" listed on both the door placard and Birth Cert. Hamburger is researching and will have that info available next week

Seems I am doing a lot of leg work, and getting nowhere. Do have a specialist in SC that may be able to provide tech assistance if I can ever get ahold of him - Bruce Hawkins

Thanks Bro

Well as a temporary solution you could pick up some spring rubber inserts to reduce the compression of the current coils. I've seen those at Advance and Autozone.

That was QA's temporary suggestion......ur right on target, but not desperate yet; however, this will have to be corrected prior to my NEW bump stop install and cam install later in the year! I believe the bumps stops (or lack thereof) have been causing my launching issues from late last year at MIR.

I've lost about 3/4" of the old rubber on those things, and both sides have cracked to the point they won't last too much longer:roflmao: :roflmao:

Hence, my reasons for not pushing the 1/4 this year. I figured out that an F-body isn't designed to handle this much added weight on a permanent basis:rolleyes:

FYI for those in need of stiffer suspension/ride height adjustments:

Contact Sam Strano once again, and now they are only willing to supply the shocks (and springs if absolutely necessary), but DO NOT want to mess w/Ground Control perches/weight jackers, so be advised you'll have to go thru (2) vendors to firm up your suspension. They advised me to contact Motorsport Dynamics (CA) for the balance of the items I require.

Man....this is getting to be one expensive stereo system to tote around!

UPDATE: 10 days later and still no response! Strano intervened and called MD, but obtaining 175# springs aren't so easy I guess. Will keep you posted on cost in case anyone else needs to upgrade/raise ride height.

Motorsports Dynamics was supposed to call me today according to Strano, but still the phone goes quiet. :dontknow:
