I just bought the Jrods short shifter off of Ebay about 2 mos ago and I'm really happy with it. It was quite a bit cheaper than Lou's

I really like the B&M Ripper in my black car, but I absolutely fell in love with the factory hurst shifter in my purple pearl car after I put a UMI short stick in it. It's a toss up between the two. Haven't experienced a Pro 5.0 yet.
Anything is better than stock.

I have a Pro 5.0 and I love it. I need to chop down the stick a bit though.
I have tried the hurst, hurst with short stick, pro 5.0, and now I have the pro 5.0 with the short stick. IMO, the pro 5.0 with short stick is the best by FAR, but I have never tried the ripper so I can't comment on that one.

I was wondering what you guys thought was the best short throw shifter for the 4th gen f-body. I am most likely going to go with a Hurst and a Lou's Short Stick. But id love to get some feedback on that shifter or any other for that matter.

I'm happy with my Ripper Shifter so far, put it on about 4 months ago.

Personally I don't like the Hurst shifters. They have too much of a mushy feel to them. I like my Pro 5.0 b/c it's crisp and I can feel it going into gear.

The Pro 5.0 is the best in my opinion, I have driven every one available for these cars, and the Pro 5.0 is the best hands down.

I have the MGW shifter in my Cobra and it's the best shifter I have ever used by far. I've had the Pro 50 and it's not even close. When I do the t5 conversion to my LX I'm going to use the MGW shifter as well. I don't think they make one for the F-body but maybe if they got enough request they may start.

For all those people out there4 that frequently visit the strip. What kind of improvement in your E.T.do you usually see with a short throw shifter if any?

I have the hurst billet plus and like it. I've heard good things about Pro 5.0 and the Ripper, but have never tried them on mine/anyone elses cars.

Like I said above the Pro 5.0 is the best, I have driven all the aftermarket shifters available, and it is by far the best.

The improvement would be nominal at best. With the inconsistency of launching a manual trans equipped car, there is too much variance run to run to be able to attribute a difference of .X s over a stock shifter. Just my feeling on the subject.

I'd agree.. I think the shifter would be for the fun-to-drive factor more than the performance gains.

Yeah, they also help prevent missed shifts for a lil more consistency.
You make sense. Thanks.
I'm just here to help.

It also just makes it easier to shift and missed shifts are a thing of the past.
