All Trans Ams came with limited slip. My guess is for some reason your posi unit has gone out. I'd recommend checking with one of our sponsors such as Driveline solutions, Outlaw Motorsports or Tbyrne.

A new posi is $300-$500 depending on the brand. Setting it up in your housing can be zero if you do it yourself on up to $300-$400 to have a shop do it.

The stock Auburn posi units can be rebuilt too. You might start by changing out the differential fluid and adding the GM limited slip additive just to see if the issue goes away. That's a lot cheaper than shelling out $$ for a new posi.

start cheap first. change the fluid and be sure to add the GM limited slip additive. sometimes that will help cure the problem.

A lot of times, you can find the whole rear end for cheaper than a new posi unit. It may even be easier and cheaper to get in there too.

i picked up my rear end minus the axle shafts for about 600, and that was with a brand new posi, gear, girdle cover, solid pinion spacer
