I got my bottle filled for the first time and asked the speed shop about a bottle heater. He told me it was a good idea of course but when I asked how involved I should get with one he told me a basic heater is all I need.

I like the tech stuff and a pressure sensor that automatically controls a heater would be nice. But I'm inclined to believe him when he recommended the most straightforward heater. I've seen the comp-u-car for about $65. Is this all I really need?

Also, I'm concerned about the space between my bottle clamps. Generally, how wide are these heaters? Thanks.

Blanket style heaters are almost all 5.25" wide.
If you buy a heating element only, make sure you get a good relay with it too. They draw way too much current for a toggle switch to deal with. And keep a close eye on your pressure gauge, heaters heat at a steady rate until around 1,000 psi then the pressure goes up quicker. The last thing you want is to over presureize the bottle.

We offer the self proclaimed 'best heater on the market' Ours is different then all the others because there is nothing to unplug when swapping bottles. Our design puts the heating element in the billet bracket. Here is a link to it, the top one is the one you would need. Also take a look at the heat time graph, that is very fast for bottle heating.

If you budget doesn't alllow for a $200 heater then take a look at the Dynotune heater. Its 300watts and under $60! But don't forget a heavy duty realy too.

Hope that helps,

Wow, thanks very much. I couldn't ask for better directions. The bracket heater is totally serious and a terrific idea.

As for the relay, I have no problem with that but I'm wondering what gauge wiring is required for these heaters. :dontknow:

Our heaters are 225W and require a 14awg wire.
300W heaters need 12awg wire.

Much appreciated information! I was looking through your online store. You've got some great stuff there for the summer season. It's a little exciting looking through the goods. Depending on how my contract goes, future purchases are inevitable. :)
