Got my new Pioneer DEH-P5800MP head unit installed, haven't had the nerve to tackle the amp and sub yet, but I think I should replace the stock speakers to enjoy the new head unit better. My car has the basic non bose system. Any idea's on which will work the best with this head unit?

I love kickers 6.5 three ways, they are 100 watts peak, and they go for 89.00-100.00, and bolt right in no problem, front or back. The amp and sub are worth it, the sound is great in these cars( well in mine anyways ).

You may not want to hear this, but you should (a) replace all existing speaker wire (stock is so small you need a magnifying glass), and that doesn't provide for a strong signal.
(b) securely mount them to avoid rattles, etc., and use some sound deadening material around the doors. This you will not regret!
(c) maybe consider a sub-thump or stealth box for your sub - I do know DJSEXAY has just finished fabricating some of these units. (SOLID)
As for speakers, comps for upfront and coaxials for the rear (if you want rear b-pillar speakers) -- I always tell people listen to what is available in your area within your price range (over the counter exchange warranty is also important). Many people do use the Alpine for ease of install, but everyone's ears/preferences are different. Some people like mid-bass, and others like mids/highs!
