Have you tried our sponsor Eurolights? I think they can hook you up.

There is a way to convert your LT1 to HID without buying the full conversion. The bulbs on the LT1 lights will come out of the light housing with some twisting. I just popped them out the back, bought the HID bulbs for a LS1 car popped them in and they hook straight up to the harness. Then I just used some silicone to seal the bulbs in the light housings. ***HOWEVER*** The low beam lights are a bit more complcated because they wont just "Pop in" like the highbeams. They require a glue/sealent to hold them in place because the rim is just flat.

The only problem with this is that I've heard that The HID bulbs could cause your harnesses to heat up and melt !!!!! not sure but you would have the same problem with a purchased kit.

HID's on the stock harness is a good way to burn out your high beam wiring. Ask me how I know....

So whats the soution for the jump to HID bulbs in a stock harness??
I was under the impression that A kit would just be plug n' play, which would have the same problem..... right???

Don't buy the eBay HIDs. I did as a replacement a while back, the bulbs fell out of the back of the housing and broke. I agree that it is excessively hard to find aftermarket headlight options for LT1-era Camaros.

I just upgraded my Bird's lights to H4 bulbs from the H4666's. I put in an upgraded wiring harness with relays (APC #50.9103) I got it on ebay for $35. It was actually for a 4 light system and should work on a Camaro. I cut the second light harness off each side leaving the ground to attach to the cars body.

Pay close attention to the wiring. Confirm the pin out of the stock connectors you have. I read a few places that the angled pin was the gnd/common, it was not. I took the back of the stock connector off and found the correct gnd/common. Now my lights work great. You do not want to make the mistake i did if you are dealing with HID's. You'll kill a ballast easily. Yes, i have dealt with HID's, i put some in my wife's Envoy.

I had to do some metal fabrication with my housings as well due to a very large but necessary rubber seal on the back of it. Since the headlight buckets come out easily it did not take very long, but this work was unexpected. Take your time with this upgrade, you don't want to burn up a set of ballasts.

I have done business with Eurolights on two occasions. The part of email communication made me a bit nervous but it was unfounded.
They were prompt in responding and were able to get me exactly what I needed. The items arrived promptly and with good installation instructions. The items are of very good quality and I have had zero problems with anything I have gotten from them.
I highly recommend them.

P.S.
There were no extra weird charges to my credit card.

So you just bought the bulbs and used them on stock housing?
How did it turn out and what did you do?

ok basically, i bought H4 10k ebay and when they came in the mail i noticed that the bulb's base doesnt match with the stock lt1 headlight, so basically i did all the wiring and used one of those weld kits they sell at western auto that is like epoxy to "glue" the bulbs base to the housing, i had to let sit sit for like 4 hours so it would really seal but then after it worked like a charm.... I had to put some HID's in cause I really couldnt see at night with the stock lights..
