At first i was disappointed when i first saw my trickflow elbow. I got the black one thinking it was going to be the smooth, glass-like powdercoating, but it was the krinkle finish. then i looked at my slp cai (still in the box) and its the same finish. so i wasnt too upset about that then. they look good together under the hood.

I have the trickflow ceramic coated one, it goes good with my polished cai tube.
If you want a pic of it, I can post one.

I'd like to see a pic, the trick flow is a little cheaper, they don't tell you how the cermanic coated looks, also does it help with heat.

I would like to know how you like it - I'm getting ready to purchase one, but there are so many out there. I'm more concerned about quality than price.

I'm not really sure if the coating helps with heat or not, I would think it does but I don't know.
I really like the elbow, it looks alot better than the stock piece, it fit's really good, if you have a vented opti you will have to drill a hole in the elbow for the hose.

i can tell that yall arent big fans of the stock one, but since most aftermarket ones are metal, which is prone to heat soak even with the coating, i vote stock one with the pert plus lid mod, take off the donkey dick and put in a pert plus lid, rubber is less prone to heat soak then metal, and if you dont wanna do that then you could go 1LE which just doesnt have the hole for the previously stated, i have ram air so im sure my vote doesnt count much im just trying to throw another couple ideas out there

Here's my $40 cheapie from ebay, it's not quite as smooth/shiny as the trickflow but still looks a lot better than the stocker for not much $$. It's pretty good quality too, about 1/4"-3/8" thick aluminum, I'd guess. Oh and you don't have to drill a hole in it for the opti-vent, I just poked a small hole in the coupler instead. Seals just fine. Also IMO, the heatsoak argument is 100% bs! I've put my hand on it after several long road trips and it's never been even remotely close to hot, barely warm maybe. There's no way it's changing the temp of the air going through it. My elbow isn't even ceramic coated either.

Right after driving mine isn't hot either, the only time it gets hot is when it has been sitting awhile, and the air stops moving around it.

Ok dumb question here...Is there really a difference between the high dollar CAI's and the cheapies on e-bay? I know you usually get what you pay for - but if the quality and performance is comparable, why pay the big bucks?
