All of my friends drive LS1s. I want to be able to beat the fastest one. It is a stock LS1 besides a CAI, Cat-back, Eagle F1s, and some suspension mods. In an LT1 what do you think would be the quickest and least expensive way to be able to beat him at the strip. I want to have a naturally aspirated car for now.

well if you want N/A then get a 1.6 roller rocker/high duration cam setup, plus headers and full exhaust. And don't do any of that wussy hotcam crap, go big :) Unless you want good city gas mileage, in which case don't. Also get some higher ratio gears. All that should run you $1200ish.

Best way:
Get an automatic car and put in gears and a converter, CAI & exhaust, and an XE 224/230 cam w/1.6 rockers.
Cheapest and quickest way:
150 shot of N20, but that alone might not be enough if you are playing with modded LS1s

LE2 with supporting mods will introduce him to your taillights easy.

I dont want to do gears for now because i dont want to hurt my mileage a lot. Any ideas on what a big cam will do to it?

Cam and conveter will do it. Just be sure the car is a 3.23 geared one.

And what would you suggest for an M6 car?

I want to leave the gears stock though because it will be my daily driver. What do you all think about full exhaust and a cam?

That would do it. Honestly though, with a 6 speed...gears are fine. the 6th gear is so tall..
I am running 3.73s now and I still only hit 1750rpm at 70mph.
But a cam and full exhaust should get you there, but you'll need tuning too...(PCMforless!!!)
I'd say Kooks longtubes and a 227/233 from Combination motorsports.
Do you have to worry about emissions requirements?

ya just cant have both IMO, if you want to go fast your gonna burn gas, bottom line. find out what you want more, performance? or economy?

I do have to worry about emmisions because im new to the area and i havent made any "friends" in the inspection business. Will the headers and that cam be emmissions legal?

Depends. Where is your "area"...I don't see a location.
You're going to need cats at a mimimum to stay legal. If you are in California you can forget longtubes all together as none are C.A.R.B. legal for the LT1.
