I got around 14-15mpg in my blown Z28. Had about 70k miles on the car, 10k miles on the shortblock. Drove pretty conservatively, I babied her.

LoL... In the C4 I get around 20 pretty much everywhere... Probably 24 on the interstate, and around 19-20 in the city...
LOL in the tA!!! Nowhere near that. Probably under 15 since a I added the converter, and around 18 on the highway...

Stock I got about 17 in town and 24 on the highway. Once, on the way back from Indy I got 29 mpg from Indy to Louisville, but its flat as hell up there, no hills to climb.
Now I'm not sure,b ut last year on the way to G8 in Atlanta, with the 224/230 cam, heads, longtubes, etc. etc. etc. and 3.73s I got 21.6mpg on the way down....which isn't bad for those mods.
If you want good mileage find a 6 speed car and use the shit out of 6th gear.

My Purple Pearl 93 T/A:
K&N CAI
Holley Airfoil
Hotcam Kit
Ported Heads
MAC Headers and Cat
Flowbastard Cat-Back w/Dynomax Race muffler
MSD Digital 6+
MSD Coil
Meziere WP
PCMForLess Dyno Tune (Chips, NOT flash)
95 T-56 Swap (with stock 3.23 rear end gears)
Dyno'd 345/360 to the wheels.
Average 19 city and 24 highway mileage.
My black car: With the old 224/230 setup running like crap I got 25 on the highway. Now with the Joe O cam setup and still running like crap I got 8.

I always read in advertisements about how a cat-back and intake will increase mileage (if you can keep your foot out of the new found power) but ive never taken the ime to actually test it to see. Have any of you done a before and after test and does it really affect your mileage.

Don't expect any mileage increase. The reason is that yes the stock exhaust might be restrictive at WOT 6000 rpm with all that air pumping through...but at 70mph and 2000 rpm the exhaust can easily handle the air flow needs of the engine.
Now headers will increase your MPG 1-2 because they use cylinder scavenging (each exhaust pulse helps pull the next pulse out of the cylinder) to increase the volumetric efficiency of the engine.
