Got this via email:

Edelbrock announces Vic Jr. LS1 manifold (http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/mc/manifolds/chevy_sb_vic-jr.shtml)(3rd one down)

With an operating range of 3500-7500 rpm, this high-rise single plane intake is capable of supporting up to 600 hp. Like our Performer RPM LS1 intake, the Victor Jr. LS1 accepts a square bore carburetor and comes with an electronic timing module that picks up MAP, crank position, and cam position in order to drive the stock Coil-on-Plug ignition system. This module also offers a choice of several built-in timing curves, each tailored for engine displacement, cam profiles, and fuel grades. Includes a throttle bracket designed to work with 700R-4, 200R-4 and Turbo 350 transmissions. Most applications will require hood modification.

just curious but why would you want to add a carburetor to an already efi engine, i always heard that efi is much more acurate and better for making power? could be wrong tho :dontknow:

i wouldnt, but a 1000cfm throttle body wouldn't be bad......!

I wouldn't. You take that manifold, add an elbow onto it and bolt up a 90mil TB.

It'll look like this:

EFI will typically produce better TQ but on max effort 9 sec. drag car type motors a carb will usually produce more peak HP.

Also there might be certain racing classes where the LS1 block is OK but EFI is not. Then there are street rod conversions....

Whole lot of reasons somebody might want to run a carb on an LS1.

wow i like that setup with the elbow, it looks sick. guess i can see why it makes sense for some cars to have a carb's, either way i'd say its pretty sick :werd:
