I have a 1995 TA with a vortech supercharger s-trim with 6 lbs of boost. The engine is completely stock other than injectors. I am trying to find the best or easiest way to run 8 or 9 lbs. Thanks in advance.

Easiest? Run 9 lbs and wait for it to blow up. Best way? Spend the money on a forged rotating assembly.

Unfortunately there's no short cuts to building a reliable F/I motor.

How do I run 9 lbs?

Get rid of those high compression cast pistons for starters and get some good forged lower compression ones.

What kind of pully do I need to run 8 or 9 lbs?

You'll probably need one of these pulleys. Best to contact Vortech to find out which one.

i'm running 10psi on my stock block with alot of miles. it will deffinently blow up eventually but for now it's running good. and for when it does finally decide to blow i've got a 396 long block waiting to go in :-)

ummm get a new pulley? lol just kidding, you could always put larger gaskets on you heads (nice an cheap) and flow them, that will lower your compression so you can boost it up. unless youve got some extra cash to spit, thats whatd id do. or you can turn it up now with that new pulley, make a couple runs at your local track and then when it explodes halfway down the strip have the guy thats tows you back recommend a mechanic that does good work relativley cheap and have him put in forged internals/rotating assembly. then you can run like 12-14 psi all day long (as long as you have like 72cc pistons)!

I bought a second block for 75 bucks, and am slowly finding good deals on forged internals. I know my engine will die soon...So hopefully I am ready to drop in the new engine when it does.

That's my plan, but I haven't picked up the block yet

I just need to decide if I want to build it for boost, or nitrous. I would love a 250 shot nitrous motor...but for road racing nitrous is worthless.

Why not both? Just don't use the juice at the road race(I would though). You can spray nitrous on top of boost. Talk to that psycho mechanic of yours and see what he says about it.

mmmm zipties. the metallic ones from pep boys are where its at! haha anyways, how safe is it to spray and boost bi quanities? with forged internals that is hahah
