My buddy needs a new clutch. I have really liked my Ram, but don't know if there is a better value in a clutch for an LT1... What kind are you LT1 guys running?

What are his needs? HP levels? Racing?
The McLeod Twin disk is THE best LT1 clutch, period. However, and I can attest to this....it is strong enough it will twist output shafts, break rear ends, etc. etc.
If longevity of the other parts is important go with one of the other brands.

I have a Street Twin in one car: Love it. It's NOT track friendly unless your driveline is bulletproof and you are leaving on slicks though.
In our PPM car, I just recently installed a Spec II. I needed something a little more resilient than a McLeod Single Disk, but not as harsh as a Spec III. Absolutely NO chatter, buttery smooth, light pedal pressure, and no issues yet. EXTREMELY pleased so far, and it was only $430 for the clutch kit.

I'm kind of scared of Spec, heard so many horror stories.
Chris, his car will be almost full boltons with a 4.10 gear and it will be daily driven this summer to work. It will also see some light strip duty.
