It's either thirdgens are just too reliable that they don't need alot of posts

Thirdgenners know how to work on their cars and don't need to ask any questions.

Just to note for those lurkers out there, Most of the administration of the board has or have thirdgens. Our executive Chris started there and just graduated to other things. :lol:
Many of us were over at TGO waayyy at the start and have a huge amount of collective experience with them. So don't feel that you can't ask a question over here because the main focus is LT1s and LS1s.

No offense intended to the Board, but the desireable order of f-bodies is:

1st gen
3rd gen
4th gen
2nd gen

When you're #2, you try harder. :D

Of course, we all know 1st gens are too expensive, and the magazines & drag strips are full of them. 4th gens - anybody who can buy one can go fast. 2nd gens are big, fat, & ugly - yuck!

3rd gens have the best lines, without question. Unibody isn't too cool, but you can get around that. Performance was always lacking from the factory, but you can do something about that. The shakes and rattles are annoying, but you can live with that.

Without question, 3rd gens are where it's at!

3 out of 4 so far.
I am always keeping an eye out for an early model 2ndgen.

The 2ndgens are slowly becoming the next fun thing to do if you watch all of the car mags lately.

third gens are cool fourth gens are fast second gens are ok but the first gen trans ams (1969) are just plain UGLY but the 67-68 firebirds are ok
