I'd like to add a set of chrome 98 trans am wheels to my 94 formula. The problem is the hub size on the 98 wheels is not big enough to fit my 94 rear axle/rotor hub diameter. I have been told to grind the rear lip off the wheels but would rather not do this. If I change my rear axles & rotors to 98 LS 1 parts will my problem be solved or will I also need to change the brake calipers to ? Thanks !

Lots of people have done it, and it's considerably less work than changing out the axle. I believe that if you want to do this though you are gonna have to change out the calipers along with everything else. There is I believe a difference on the thickness on the calipers and maybe even a difference on the brackets.

Changing the rear end to an LSx is way more complicated and costly than just increasing the hub size of the wheels.

Do you want a detail listing of the involvement of the swap?

I completed the wheel swap & did it the right way. I removed the axles and had them turned down .020 at a local machine shop ! just a tiny bit taken off and it only cost $30. I think it's the best way to go. The 98 WS6 wheels look great on the car. Jeff
