I have recently put on headers, jet hots. Now I can't get into 4th at WOT and even at idle it is difficult to get into reverse. For the most part, around town driving is ok, although there was one time I seemed to have some trouble changing gears. My clutch fluid which I've never changed in 58000 miles, does look full but it is also black, I'm not sure why. Any suggestions.

that's strange. i never had any problems getting into gears after putting mine on.

It may be coincidental, but it's all happened after the headers.

are any codes being thrown? not that it would have anything to do with the clutch.

At first I was getting a heater circuit O2 sensor code, had them pulled once and then they retuned. Then it fixed itself. But back to the original question.

change your clutch fluid (I use a turkey baster to pull it out with), maybe do the drill-mod if you haven't already. That's probably your problem right there.

and change that tranny fluid, while your at it. It's probably not helping much... I had a low tranny fluid situation for a little while and I got grinding into 3rd at higher rev shifts

this is purely coincidental, unless you took something off during the header install and didn't put it back on right.

Good luck with it, keep us posted on the progress!

You might want to check the wire and or connection for your reverse lockout solenoid while you are under there. :D

Didn't check that wire last night, but I'll check it later. I changed the clutch fluid and the transmission fluid was full. I think I'll change it out this weekend.
I didn't make a pass yet, but I'll probably try during my lunch break.

The drill mod is only for LS1 clutches! Here is the tech article: http://www.installuniversity.com/install_university/index.htm
