Just wondering who out there is providing the best bang for the buck?

Opinions? Examples?

I have heard good things about Darts new heads for us. and since dart has such a good name to begin with from their SBC, i tend to believe there LS1 stuff is good

Do you know what the Dart head flows?

Dart heads are good, but they need a lot of cleaning up to flow as well as others. TEA heads are good and the heads from Texas Speed are pretty cheap, and flow very well.

What do you guys think? Look at the price - $639.99/ea.

Patriots are IMO the best "bang for the buck" head. They can be had very cheap right now. But if you want to step up then the PRC's from TSP are a good choice.

What about the problem with Patriots dropping valve guides? Was that remedied?

That was an issue. It has since bene fixed. It happened twice to one of our mods on LS2.

Did Patriot make it right? Seems like 2 yrs ago there was a big brewhaha about somebody losing a motor and Patriot refused to compensate despite an obvious failure of their product.

Yeah they took care of it. Gunnar from Patriot is a real great guy from what my buddy has told me. He'll even call just to check up on things and see how it's all going.

I will. We're installing those, a 9" with full suspension and that direct port kit I posted.

I think that these could give the Darts a run for their money in the bang for buck department.

Just wondering, what about trick flow heads I mean I dont know if they even are still up and going but I had a set on a 400 sm blk in my 87 formula with lunati 292 cam ,torker 2 intake,650 holley,700r tranny, stock gears in rear on single track and ran 8.90s through the 8th babying it like hell even after 60ft mark.i would have loved to have gotten that thing planted to the ground to see what kind of number it would run..im just thinking they flowed nice..

well from what i have seen , TEA stage 1.5 5.3L right out the box has been one of the best performing heads for the price. $1250. w/ exchange core , $1500.00 no core.

gotta go with the TEA's, although, I may be a lil biased. ;)
