Guys I was out in my T/A sunday and took a pretty hard left turn and heared a very high pitched squeaking coming from something in the back. It soundel like something in the rear end or possibly a LR brake. It was very high pitched and It done it again later on another left hander. Didnt hear it any when turning right though. Also, I got on it pretty good and the engine cut out.. Almost like it tried to die then when let back off the gas it picked back up. It done this 3 or 4 times. No backfiring or anything.. just cut out for a second. Im a worry wart with this car.. any thoughts? 94 trans am GT with 138k all stock.
Thanks everyone

How much gas was in the car when it cut out?

Little over half a tank ( I think a 1/2 on an f-body is really a 1/4..lol)
I forgot to mention that last week i sent my wife to the place we always have our oil and everything changed. They are very trustworthy and do great for us. They told the wife that we better replace the fuel filter ASAP. Could this be the problem? I had forgotten about that till I posted. Thanks!
The rear end squeak kinda worries me though.

Fuel filter is something that needs to be changed anyway. I'd try it and see if it helps.
How high pitched was the squeak? Did it sound like metal on metal? When's the last time the car had new brakes?
Wouldn't hurt to jack the back end up, take the wheels off and just visually inspect everything. There's a lot that could cause it and its hard to guess at it w/o more information.

The cutting out sounds like it could be a "heat soak" issue.
Ive heard of it happening on high mile LT1's with stock Induction Parts.
Fuel Filter could be plugged, gas line could have a crack or slit somewhere.
The sqeak sounds like a possible brake issue.
Driving it in the cold and putting alot of pressure on it can cause pads to "breakdown" and "chip off" causing irregular noises when pressure is applied.
Dont get to worried about the squeak, all fbodies sing a tune when the abuse catches up with them.
Beat the motor, not the car
