Hi guys, I have owned a 94 trans am for about 2 years. It has 138,000 miles on it but seems to run great and drives like a dream. My question is.. How many miles is too many? It doesnt use oil. And Ive never had any problems out of the engine. I have put about 4,000 on the car since I have had it. Also I was wondering what kind of oil pressure is ideal in a bone stock LT1? At temperature mine holds steady 20lb at idle and going down the interstate it stays around 40. Would it be a bad idea to do anything to this car with this many miles on it? Thanks everyone.

It wouldn't hurt to have the oil analyzed.
I want to say it is Blackstone Labs that does it?
Well with any car that uses hydrallic lifter, they will eventually collapse. The more miles, the more chance for collapsed lifters.
Also valve springs can wear over time and not handle to well at high rpms. :D
I say with 138K miles on it now, it will probably blow up any second. :lol
Just kidding. :D
How is the Opti doing?

So far ive had no trouble with the opti... The driveshaft seems to be out of balance at higher RPMs. I was told 94 F-bodies had a problem with slinging counter weights off. I am very seldom at high rpm because I baby the car to death..lol If I do anything to the car i will get a driveshaft first. The only time i really get on it is when a young 17 or 18 ricer starts revving his weedeater at a light. Then of course I may be known to administer some discipline to show them that respect WILL be shown...lol But other than that im a good boy with it.

i had 140k on my 95 when i sold it and it still riped,if the opti spark hasnt been replaced yet, it may very well go anytime around there, also 20 pounds of oil crusing at low rpms is fine, dont be scared of miles,do oil changes every 3000 with synthetic oil and it will last you
