In a word: DON'T DO IT!

Okay, that's three words. Anyway, the bolts are barely 1" long, with a thin flat washers. The washers bend, the bolts only engage a few threads. I've stripped out several bolt holes in the heads, had to scrounge up longer (1-1/2") bolts and thicker washers, chase the threads, etc.

A bunch of hassle that could have been avoided with the proper length bolts in the first place. Eventually, the heads will have to be helicoiled.

That sucks. What brank of fasteners were they?

I got them from Summit when I got the Action+ manifold in '98. I believe they are Mr. Gasket.

This was the 4th install since first using them. Original install in '98, re-install in '03 when I ported the heads, and again when the Air Gap was installed last fall. I started noticing some of the bolts not firmly torquing then, this time some just plain wouldn't tighten down.

I use either ARP or original equipment on mine depending on which car I am working on. Never had any problems. I am guessing the Mr. Gasket bolts are a little shorter than those I mentioned above? Larry.
