I have a 94 Z28. When I bought it it had a tranny issue that I felt I could take care of. BUT NOOOOOOOOO
If I slowly take off it will shift fine. If I take off with a steady increase it will go fine from 1 to 2 but going to 3 is like go into neutral. I let off and it will jump it 3rd. If I cruze and try to go into passing, it does the same. From a slow roll or stop it will just hit the rev limiter.
I have had the tranny rebuilt and had the valve body replaced by a SMALL tranny shop. With no luck. He seems lost now.
Is this a computer or electronic issue? How can I tell?
If you can help PLEASE conntact w_dave_herbeck@yahoo.com or post here.
Thanks Dave

You had the tranny rebuilt and the valve body replaced? Then essentially it should be fine. If it was rebuilt correctly.
How does the tranny fluid look?

Tranny fluid looks fine. It is a 4l60e. How can I figure if its the computer? I have a hypertech program in. I have tried diffrent settings and now I am back to stock. Is this something that I need to go to a big shop for?

If the hard parts of the tranny are new or in good shape, it could be the solenoids ( which should have been replaced if the tranny has been rebuilt )

It sounds to me like something electrical. Since 4L60-E's are electronically controlled, it could be be in the ECM, Ignition Timing, and maybe even smaller items like plugs, wires and mudule.
I know that sounds crazy, but it DOES happen.

A GM dealer would have scanning software they can plug into the computer and actually watch the computer tell the transmission when to shift and whatnot. They would be able to better determine if the computer is doing its job.
