hi
I'm a french proud caprice owner.
I project to put alloy wheels on my car.

Can i put original 17 x 8,5'' impala SS wheels on my car?

It's a 1991 caprice 9C1, i don't want that tires rubbs on the rear quarter panel.

Can i put hardened lowering springs?

thannks

yes, you can put those wheels on the '91. also, what exactly do you mean by "hardened lowering springs"?

Sorry i would say "stronger and shorter coil springs" whose are lowering the car.

You can install factory Impala springs with no problems. You can install aftermarket springs with the same result. Make sure the front end alignment is checked after the ride height is altered. Your camber will be off.

when I put my SS wheels on my 91 Caprice, the tires rubbed. I don't remember what tires sizes I had on at the time though. I suspect that the 245/45R17s that my dad's 96 SS has would clear with no problems though.

Is the 245/45/17 original impala SS tires size?

Did you had oversized tires on your '91 caprice??

I have another question :

What air pressure have i to put on my caprice's tires?? (front and rear with original size 235/70/15)

I don't have tire pressures stickers on the doors edges or in the glove box.

thanks

The OEM tire for the 94-96 impala SS was the BF Goodrich ZR4 255/50ZR17 for all 4 corners. That was a huge tire back then! The 245/45R17s are a good bit shorter and noticably narrower, but they are what the previous owner put on. THey are also easier to find and cheaper than 255/50ZR17s.

I either had 255/50ZR17s or 275/40ZR17s on my caprice when I put the SS rims on. I also removed the chrome fender trim on the back and cut out most of the lip on the inside of the fender.

I believe that I've got 235/75R15s or 225/75R15s on the caprice now, but it isn't on the road.

30-35psi should be good.

Hi.

I just went to put Eibach springs on my car. They are stonger than factory one, and no camber adjustment is needed.

I'm still seeking for alloys. I think i would put 18 x 8,5 rims, or OEM impala 17 x 8,5 .

Is everybody knows the exact outer width of the impala rim?? (8,5 inches is the inner width size)

Don't know that one.
I would look at what is available for trucks (GM full sized trucks used 5x5 for decades)

What are you thinking about RVM wheels???
