heres a game i play all the time with my f-body buddies. Ill kick it off with a question, the answerer then asks a question after answering. If it stalls out the asker answeres his own and then asks another. Just some general knowledge questions for fun.
Ok hers a two parter to kick it off with as there should onyl be one parter questions from now on. How many REAL 1982 pace cars was there? And what engine was in those cars? Be specific about the engine.

I'm not sure of the number, maybe only 3 total, but the REAL pace cars, the ones that actuallypaced the race, had all -aluminim 350 small blocks...250hp vs. the actual retail motor which was the 305 crossfire 165hp.

Awesome chris your the first person I have ever asked to get the engine. Only 2 cars ever built and both hand hand made alumi 350's in em. Camaro performers did an article on the pace cars in this issue. I was excited as i believe third gens dont get enough credit but camaro performers is working on 2 project 3rd gens!

OK, next trivia question:
For 5 years during the 1967-2002 production run, the Z28 option did not exist. What years are they?

75-80. Easy one...Whats was the only year z28's had no badges?
Chris 96 WS6
03-02-2006, 05:02 PM
Wrong!! :)
The answer is 75-76 and 88-90.
From 67-74 Z28 was an option package. For 75 & 76 it disappeared because GM couldn't make enough HP to make it worth it. It came back in 77 as its own model rather than an option package.
In '85 the IROC-Z was introduced as an option package on top of the Z28 model. In '88 they dropped Z28 and made the IROC-Z a model of its own. Z28 returned in 1991 when Chevy's license to the IROC name expired.

pick one
Nova, Panther, Chaparral, Wildcat, G-Mini, GeMini, Gemini
If memory serves me correctly, I thought GM orginally designated an animal name for it, but then changed and wanted differentiation from the Mustang.
My guess (purely that) is either Wildcat, Panther, or Chaparral.
Wow, these are NOT easy questions.

YES, Chapparal! That's right, it was a horse, and they wanted distinction from FORD.
Thanks for the reference!
