View Full Version : long tube headers and N20 ?

ok i have a 100 shot dry kit and i have long tube headers...both waiting to be installed..my question is should i wait till i can afford a tune to put the headers on ? cause ive been told that my car will run really rich after i put headers on.?? and if i did that i probably woulndnt be able to use the nitrous right ? ??? well lemme hear wat u guys think

It won't run really rich. Just throw on them and get it tuned when you can. And the N2O will be fine too. Rich is okay, lean is not.

I remember when I ran my Yamaha Banshee to lean... :banghead:

Lets me just say this, its not good for any motor.

Like Brian said, it shouldn't run very rich. In fact, I've only known one guy who ran noticable rich after installing headers. It's usually a pretty neglegible amount, IF at all. I know my a/f was consistent before and after headers.
Running lean is the worst thing for NOS.

I ran headers and a small cam without a tune for about a year...

When I went to tune it I was only a little rich running around and only a little lean on the high-end (from the cam)

it might drive like crap after installed, but drive around a lot for week and the pcm will adjust it's self. i wouldn't tune just for headers it's like tuning for a damn air lid. it's just going to breath better. drive it thru lots of cycles and you should be fine spraying it after
