Patience

when i did mine, get it up hight, remove all plugs/wires, remove oil dipstick tube, remove steering linkage, remove some little piece directly above the oil filter it has only two bolts on it and a small amout of oil will come out

impact would have helped alot but i didnt use one, old manifolds come out easier when you take the cats off first

and they all go in from the bottom

I left my steering linkage alone on all my installs. Another method to get the driver's side in there is to unbolt the engine mount from the K-member and use a tranny jack to lift the engine up a little bit.

And I haven't had to take the oil thing out, either. Maybe I just got lucky

i didn't screw with the steering or engine mounts. i just took off the coil packs and mounting brackets, dipstick tube, and piece by piece the exhaust. the bolts were a MFr, but with the help of mister breaker bar, i got it

i dont know if the steering linkage was nessacary, i was just told that i should do it, so i did

but i left the coil packs inplace

I'm slowly but surely porting mine from the outside in. When I get a hole from !groundclearance I'll order some QTP's or something

but do Kooks have the HVM collectors? That's really the only reason that I'd pick QTP's over them

No, but you won't notice the difference if you go with the stepped headers. QTP's have been having some Y pipe clearance issues lately.

Y pipe isn't an issue if you run true duals!!! but yeah QTP y pipes suck, i had one and it leaked like a siv and banged. whenever i got it to not bang, it scraped.

The Pacesetter longtubes I installed on at least 3 different LS1 cars all went in VERY smoothly. Plugs, wires and coil packs was all I needed to remove.

hopefully, that's all I'll need to remove.

Pacesetters are easier the Hookers by far. Neither is "hard" though.
