Fuel injector cleaning.....

If your doing a "intake manifold gasket" you might as well clean the fuel injectors. How I did mine was pop them off the fuel rail "without fuel pressure" use a couple volts from a few"AA" batteries to open each injector away from any fuel and use carb cleaner and air "backwards" in the injector to clean them. The microfine screen in them catches all the tiny particles and really needs to be blown out reversed....

I use a slightly different method that works well, you can actually see the spray pattern getting better while it cleans. Anyway I use a spare fuel rail that I have closed up all extra openings and have one opening left, pour in my own blend of injection cleaner, screw on a air fitting, pressurize it to 45 psi and apply power to each injector, one at a time. Of course I have to refill after each inj is cleaned.

That'll do it. I just thought of something, I hope I didn't @#$% up my injector screens with the carb cleaner! What are the screens made of Nylon?

Don't know what screens are made of but they are made to resist fuel injector cleaner which is a pretty hot solvent

Uuu'ooo, did you check and see if you had any screens left. The nylon will propably melt or disfigure if boiled.....The fuel keeps the injector from overheating on the engine....

Still have screens after injector cleaning. They are made to not only resist solivents, but also the hellish heat generated under hood.

Which brings to mind, the technology of "boiling" gas right before injecting has been used on some japanese motorcycle engines and yeilds "GREATER" power:LS1LT1flag:!!!

Boiling fuel also givs one a quick way to get to heaven or hell, depending on your final destination. Leave fuel boiling to the crazy ricers out there.
