I have a 94 Formula - Automatic.

I am tired of my old T-style shifter. Is big and ugly.

I've considered the camaro's shift knob, however I put my hand on the top very often... I do not want to rest my hand on the top of the button.

So I've read somewhere that the Pontiac Grand Prix shift knob will fit (the button is on the bottom of the shifter :eureka: ;) )

If this is true what year model Grand Prix do I need?

Thanks

Yes you can.

I'll probably do it to my TA (had one in my 91 just cuz I was tired of the T-handle) too if I can find a leather one. I'm pretty sure it's a later 90s car...97 up perhaps?

Funny, I couldn't stand the camaro button top so I replaced it with a T/A leather T handle from the local pick-a-part yard. It only cost $1.50. The only others I found from late model cars that might fit were all way too tall.

Going to ressurect this from the dead and ask another related question, what can you use if the stock auto shifters threads are all stripped off and your t-handle can spin around like crazy? I dont really like the stock handle but I cant relly put anything else on it as it will just spin around too.

Auto shifters have no threads, only manual shifters. You push the handle down as far as it will go with the button to the left and there is a clip (looks like a giant staple) that you shove into the front of the handle about half way down or more on the front side. Shove that in and it should not budge the first bit. And even with it pushed down as far as possible it still shouldn't spin.. it catches on the metal part of the shifter thats slotted.

Maybe its just some sort of banding on either side of the slot for the staple that is worn off, its hard to tell as its worn very badly. Ill take a pic of it tomorrow, as I thought the same thing but the staple doesnt stop it when I put it all the way back in.
