has anyone out there put a dist, type engine in a 4th gen camaro? and how do you fit it in there? any help would be great. thanks

It can be done. However it is not worth the effort. You can not remove the Cap with the motor in the car.

Suppose you could just run a crank mount mag pickup and coil packs. Prob the same hassle of aftermarket PCMs anyway...

and where would the throttle body go? lol, idk which engine your talking about, but sbc have the dizzy drive on the back of the cam (where our dummy oil drive is inside the intake) which is why it can be converted to a rearmount dizzy.

No It can be done, look up TPI conversion guys... they drill the hole in an LT1 intake and voila, traditional dizzy. The problem for us is the cowl/windshield sticks over the engine to much.

you would have to use the whole ford set up like how half the mustangs that go down the track have a SBC you would be a Chevy with a ford in it (thus the reason I went back to my corner)
I'm talking about like every ford engine I've seen provided I have not been under the hood of many fords but all that I have seen have a distributer smack in the front

unless you went carb you would be deperforming your car though but big displacement fords are beastly

Just saw this last weekend on one of those tv car shows. They used an ls1 and converted it with a kit to carburator and distributor on the front timing cover and it even had a place for a mechanical fuel pump if wanted, or block it off. It did use the dist from a sbf engine.
